Bereavement counselling offers vital support to those navigating the choppy waters of loss. It provides a safe harbour for expressing grief, understanding emotions, and finding ways to cope. I serve as a guide, offering a compassionate ear and tools to navigate the complex landscape of grief. Through individualised sessions, I help clients process the loss, manage stress, and work towards healing, no matter how long it takes. The focus isn’t on ‘getting over’ a loss, but rather integrating it into life’s narrative in a healthy, supportive way.

My experience, in berevement counselling, has been developed from working with bereaved and pre-bereaved clients and their families at Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice in Farnham, near Aldershot. I worked for 4 years at the hospice, supporting carers and families who have either lost a loved one or are living with a family member with a terminal illness. My role included offering one to one support at the hospice, over the telephone or using multimedia, such as Zoom or WhatsApp. It also included the planning and facilitation of support groups for bereaved children and young people. Within my role I have worked with anger, anticipatory grief, anxiety, bereavement and loss, depression, exam stress, family issues, illness, death and dying, loneliness, relationship difficulties and self-harm
